Corporate Citizenship

SAP's corporate citizenship program in the United States supports a wide range of projects and activities – from corporate philanthropy to higher learning. The program demonstrates how incorporating community stakeholders into our business network not only supports corporate goals and responsibility, but also encourages nonprofit organizations to promote social change in a positive and sustainable way.

SAP supports several major corporate citizenship initiatives, including:

  • SAP America Scholarship Program – This program recognizes outstanding undergraduate students pursuing a degree in business, computer science, mathematics, or engineering. To learn more about the program and its requirements, download the Program Requirements (PDF, 40 KB). To apply for the scholarship program, download the Scholarship Application (DOC, 304 KB). To be considered, applicants are required to submit the completed application, current transcript, résumé, paper, and letter of recommendation, following the directions listed in Program Requirements, to citizenship.usa@sap.com.
  • SAP National Partnership Program – This program maintains mutually beneficial partnerships between SAP and charitable organizations with a national scope.
  • Community involvement committees – In select facilities, committees made up of SAP employees discuss and make decisions about charitable giving and volunteerism.
  • Education Alliances Program – This program offers SAP solutions to learning institutions, providing the technology infrastructure – as well as curriculum development workshops, learning materials, and a collaborative global network of scholars – to support innovative educational approaches in the areas of business, technology, computer science, and engineering.
  • SAP Matching Gift Program – This program extends SAP's corporate giving by matching employee gifts to nonprofit agencies and schools.

Volunteerism

In addition to specific national and local programs, SAP encourages and supports employee volunteerism. In this regard, we partner with Hands on Network and its local affiliates to support community service throughout the United States. SAP also recognizes that our senior executives are excellent ambassadors for SAP, and we encourage them to lend their management expertise to nonprofit organizations as board members. The Executive Community Leadership Program facilitates and supports the service of SAP executives on nonprofit boards.
