SAP National Partnership Program

Fisher House Foundation

In 2003, SAP Public Services embarked on a unique partnership with the Fisher House Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing a home away from home for family members of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. To date, SAP and the government IT community have raised more than $1 million in support of the Fisher House and wounded military service members and their families.

Fisher House Golf Classic

SAP Public Services is the founding sponsor of an annual golf tournament – Fisher House Golf Classic – which is the leading fundraiser for the organization. The 2007 golf event was held on April 30 at The Golf Club at Lansdowne in Lansdowne, Virginia. In total, $583,000 was raised for the Fisher House Foundation, surpassing our goal by 117%. All proceeds will go to building a new Fisher House in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where on any given night there are over 30 families staying in hotels while injured service members are undergoing treatment at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.

More than 250 people came out to the Lansdowne Golf Resort to play in the tournament, including a number of wounded soldiers from the Walter Reed Medical Center. The day began with a golf clinic for the soldiers hosted by Ken Peck, a double amputee who has taught golf to the disabled for the past 15 years. CNN covered the tournament throughout the day and John Roberts, host of CNN's morning show American Morning, served as the emcee.
